The death has occurred of:

Gerard E.P. B.Agr.Sc. O’Brien

O’BRIEN,  Gerard E.P., B.Agr.Sc. (“Ambleside”, Clongour, Thurles, Co. Tipperary) - January 21, 2021 (peacefully), at the Mater Private, Dublin. Formerly of Ballina-Killaloe and Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, retired Land Commission Inspector and past National President of The Agricultural Science Association. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years Margaret (nee O’Keeffe) formerly of Ennis, Co. Clare. Deeply regretted by his loving daughter Eva (Newbridge) and his loving sons Lorcan (Nenagh), Gearóid (Ballina-Killaloe) and Brian (Tipperary Town), son-in-law Andrew Cody, daughters-in-law Judy O’Meara, Caitríona Morgan-O’Brien and Noreen Carr, his adored grandchildren Katie and Nicholas, Harry, Mairéad and Conor, Gearóid and Quan, Anna, David and Robert, his cousin Teresa Cusack, his nephews, nieces, relatives, many friends and neighbours at Clongour. Requiescat in Pace. In line with Government advice and restrictions regarding public gatherings, Gerard’s funeral is private. His funeral cortége will leave his residence tomorrow (Sunday January 24) at 10.15 o'c., to arrive at the Cathedral of The Assumption, Thurles at 10.30 o'c. for Requiem Mass at 11 o'c. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Thurles. Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but are unable due to current restrictions, may join in the Funeral Mass on www. thurlesparish.ie. House private please.
