DEMPSEY, Sr. Angela (Chrissie) (The Convent of Mercy, Loughrea, Co. Galway and formerly of The Mercy Convent Westport, Co Mayo and Lissalondoon, Craughwell) - December 30, 2020 (peacefully), in University College Hospital, Galway. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Mary Ellen her Sisters Madie Broad, Nancy Moloney, Sr. Margaret Mary Dempsey, and Noreen Flaherty, her brothers Paddy, JJ and Billy Dempsey; Sr. Angela will be very sadly missed by her brother Mickie Dempsey, (Masonbrook), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends, the Sisters of Mercy, Loughrea, the Sisters of Mercy Western Province. Sr. Angela’s funeral cortège will arrive to St. Brendan’s Cathedral Loughrea tomorrow (Friday January 1) at 12.15 o'c. for Requiem Mass at 12.30 o'c. (for family only due to current restrictions), followed by burial immediately afterwards in The Mercy Convent Cemetery. Sr Angela's Funeral Mass will be streamed online at loughreacathedral.ie or at churchservices.tv/Loughrea Due to government and HSE guidelines regarding public gatherings outside St.. Brendan’s Cathedral, Barrack Street, Loughrea, people that would wish to form a guard of honour on the route of the funeral Cortège from St. Brendan’s Cathedral as mark of respect to the Mercy Sister and Dempsey families, may do so, this guard of honour will start from the far side of the Lake Road junction to the Convent Gates Keeping a minimum of two metre’s apart at all times. Those who would like to have attended the funeral but cannot do so due to the current restrictions are invited to leave a message on the condolence page on rip.ie “sephine may your kind and gentle soul rest in peace”.
