Thomas McNamara

McNAMARA, Thomas (‘Slemish’, Prospect, Athenry, Co. Galway, Ret. Director of Operations, BWG Foods Ltd, formerly Old Church Street, Athenry) - January 26, 2022, Tommy (very peacefully and comfortably),  in his own home in the loving arms of his son and daughters, predeceased by his beloved wife Nellie (2021) and his loving son Conor (2018), the epitome of a gentleman and a devoted, proud and loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather; Tommy will be forever loved and greatly missed by his heartbroken family, his son Fr. Robert (P.P. Lisdoonvarna and Kilshanny), his daughters Aileen (Nolan), Patricia (Rowe) and Louise, cherished grandchildren Leyla Belle, Rhys and Eloise Rowe and his sons-in-law Terry Nolan and Neil Rowe; Tommy will be greatly missed by his wonderful companion and friend, Neal. Predeceased by his sister Anne and brother-in-law Jimmy Lyons, his brother John and sister-in-law Anne and his brothers-in-law John and Paddy Donlon, Roscommon. Tommy will be sadly missed by his bothers Paddy and Alfie, his sister Bridie, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces and their families. Tommy will be remembered fondly by his many colleagues and friends in the retail and wholesale trade in Ireland and around the world. He will be greatly missed by his neighbours, golfing friends, cousins and many other friends. Lying in repose at Gardner’s Funeral Home, Athenry today (Friday January 28,  2022) from 5 o'c. to 7 o'c. Removal from his home at 12.30 o'c. for Requiem Mass at 1 o'c. tomorrow (Saturday, January 29, 2022) in Church of the Assumption, Athenry, with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Athenry. Mass will be live streamed on the following link https://www. churchmedia.tv/camera/st-marys-parish-1 and can be listened to on Parish radio 106.5fm. Please note this will be a walk-through repose viewing with family in attendance. We please ask for no shaking of hands and for face masks to be worn at all times. Those who would have liked to attend the Funeral, but unfortunately cannot, please leave a personal message in the condolence section on RIP.ie. House private at all times.   A gentleman and a scholar, his strength, wisdom and kindness will always be with us.  Ar dheis dé go raibh a anam dílis
